Abram Wilson Foundation
The Abram Wilson Foundation (AWF) was founded in 2012 by Jennie Cashman Wilson in memory of her late husband critically acclaimed, award winning jazz musician, mentor and educator Abram Wilson. The charity supports the next generation of musicians to fulfil their potential and pay it forward to young people who face barriers to accessing inspirational music education opportunities.
Since 2015 the Foundation has continued Abram’s legacy by:
- reaching nearly 10,000 children and young people through assemblies and performances in schools based in deprived areas of London and Birmingham;
- delivering music education workshops to nearly 600 children and young people between 8 – 18 years from challenging backgrounds;
- providing over 160 hours of mentoring to nearly 30 up and coming musicians.
One Night Records supports the Abram Wilson Foundation with a £2 contribution per ticket going to the charity for every single booking. Proceeds will help them achieve their mission of supporting the next generation of musicians to fulfil their potential and pay it forward to young people who face barriers to accessing inspirational music education opportunities.
