Sharlene Hector is a UK singer/songwriter. She has worked as a backing vocalist with Alicia Keys, Hurts, Lalah Hathaway, Tinie Tempah, Josh Groban and Michael Bublé, as well as performing on TV shows such as X Factor and Sounds Like Friday night with the likes of One Republic and John Legend. Over the 2018 and 2019 Christmas period she performed with the Sevenoaks Panto Company in Dick Whittington (Town Council Member) and Aladdin (Imperial Court Member, Hoo).
For the past 19 years she has fronted the UK House group Basement Jaxx as a lead vocalist, headlining shows at Glastonbury and V Festival, as well as touring with Blonde, Emeli Sandé and Sam Sparro.
She is also part of The Soul Family Sunday band where she performs alongside Natalie Williams once a month at the World famous Jazz club, Ronnie Scott's.
Her vocal harmony group LaSharVu hold the record for the fastest selling show of all time at Pizza Express, Soho due to their debut show selling out a mere 6 hours after going on sale. They were subsequently chosen to open the UK festival Love Supreme in 2017 ahead of releasing their debut EP 'Honey'.
The list of artists she has collaborated with is long, varied and includes Clean Bandit, Royal Blood, Rag And Bone Man, Primal Scream, The Horrors, Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Wretch 32, Natasha Bedingfield, Nicole Scherzinger, Mark Ronson, Paloma Faith, Kano, JP Cooper and Omar.
She was the face of Coca-Cola's 'I Wish' ad campaign back in 2004, where she played the lead role of a girl walking down the street handing out bottles of Coca-Cola.
