Tom Mansi & The Icebreakers

Rock n roll alternative Three piece Tom Mansi and the Icebreakers are no strangers to The Great Brain Robbery, having played the Great Brain Robbery stage at Wilderness festival as well as various other appearances over the years.

Hailing from North London and Warrington, the band have spent the last 10 years honing their sound, playing countless shows across the UK and Europe . All three members of the band are professional musicians in their own right and have worked with many different artists ranging from the surreal world of David Lynch to the 60’s folk of Donovan and even the vibrant British Cabaret scene. It is from these experiences that the band have forged their unique sound which owes as much to old blues singers like Howlin’ Wolf as it does to Jazz legend Charles Mingus and more left field artists Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart.

Fronted by howling doublebass player Tom Mansi, with Paul White on guitar and James Johnston on drums, Tom Mansi and The Icebreakers play a brooding mix of blues, swamp and rock & roll.

The band have previously performed at many venues and festivals across the the UK and Europe including – Glastonbury, Secret Garden party, The Big Chill, The Scala and Hammersmith Palais. Supporting the likes of Son of Dave, Imelda May, Florence & The Machine, The Sadies and Fat Freddie’s Drop.
